First guest look!

Dear all, I am so excited to introduce you my first guest's makeup look by Alessandra, 33 years old GP from Milan

Alessandra told me that she actually does not wear makeup very often because she is always rushing around but every now and then, when she wants to look her best, she enjoys wearing purple shades like in the following two pictures where she wears a makeup look which works well both with and without glasses.

To create her look Alessandra used Bobbi Brown Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in Extra Light as a foundation and Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque as an under eye concealer.
On her eyes she applied Bobbi Brown Cream shadow in Cool Lilac  as a base and then she blended both shades of Nars duo eyeshadow in Jolie Poupee up to the crease.
She defined her eyes with Nars Larger Than Life Long Wear Eye Liner in St. Marks Place and a swipe of  Clinique High Impact mascara in black.
To give her cheeks a healthy flush she dusted a bit of Nars powder blusher in Gaiety and she dressed her lips in Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color in Lilac.

Nars sheer lipstick in Venice

When I saw this shade in the shop I could not resist because it reminded me of the first lipstick I bought when I was 15. It is a sheer cool pale pink with sligtly frosty, silvery shimmer.
It is sheer but can be built up to offer more coverage. If I build it up it ends up looking too pale on my rather pigmented lips but I love wearing it as a see through wash of colour. The shade is also a tad cool for my colouring and in my opinion it would look more stunning on pale, cool skin toned ladies.
Here is a swatch on my lips.

Nars Gaiety vs Bobbi Brown Pale Pink

Here you are a comparison beetween two popular pink blushes: Nars Gaiety vs Bobbi Brown Pale Pink.

Nars Gaiety vs Bobbi Brown Pale Pink
Both blushes look bright pink in the pan, but Gaiety is lighter than Pale Pink. They are both mat and apply smoothly, with Nars being softer than Bobbi Brown.

On my skin Gaiety looks like a cotton candy pink whereas Pale Pink looks more vibrant and deeper.
Even though it is definetely easier to go overboard with Pale Pink than with Gaiety, you need to wait a few minutes after you have applied Gaiety to see its true colour develop and then decided whether to add more or not. In fact Gaiety goes on quite translucent to start with and then it seems to deepen up up once in contact with the warmth of your skin.
I personally find Gaiety to look better on cool skin tone or very pale ladies, whereas Pale Pink is beautiful on either cool or warm skin tones and goes well on bronzer too.
